Attorney William M. Slaughter is the founding partner of the firm. A trial attorney for 40 years, his practice focuses on commercial and real estate litigation, complex insurance defense cases (including insurance bad faith, personal injury, habitability and mold cases). He has arbitrated and tried dozens of cases to conclusion.
Attorney Slaughter serves as a judge pro tem and provides mediation services on a private basis. Attorney Slaughter brings the same innovative and result-oriented approach to mediation that he does to litigation. He focuses heavily on pre-mediation preparation and aggressively pursuing resolution.

Raised in Santa Paula, Mr. Slaughter currently resides in the Upper Ojai Valley with his wife, Rain Perry. His family has lived in Ventura County since 1903. He has volunteered his time over the years to many organizations as a board member including Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation, Notes for Notes, Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce, Santa Paula Boys and Girls Club and Sisar Water Company.
A lifelong climber and outdoor sports enthusiast, Mr. Slaughter has participated since the mid-1980s as a member of the Upper Ojai Search and Rescue Team. It is a part of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. He has served as the Captain of this mountain rescue team for the last 15 years. In that capacity, he participates in and manages search and rescue activities in Ventura County and across California.
