Slaughter, Reagan & Cole partner William M. Slaughter and senior associate Jonathan D. Marshall obtained a victory at trial defending a "palimony" lawsuit. The plaintiff then appealed the judgment. The appeal was handled by Slaughter, Reagan & Cole’s certified appellate specialist, Gabriele M. Lashly, who obtained another victory. The Court of Appeal found that the trial court did not abuse its discretion in excluding proposed testimony of one of plaintiff's witnesses, and properly posed objections to during the presentation of plaintiff's case. Furthermore, the Court of Appeal determined that none of the alleged errors were prejudicial to the plaintiff.
