Slaughter, Reagan & Cole Announces New Senior Associate and Partners

Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP is pleased to announce that it has named Michael Lebow and Kevin Heimberg as Partners of the firm and Guillermo “Bert” Partida as a Senior Associate, effective June 1, 2019.

Mr. Lebow, Mr. Heimberg, and Mr. Partida have been promoted in response to their consistent excellence and contributions to the firm. They will lend their creative and strategic experience to cases involving individuals and a broad range of entities including business owners, contractors, developers, property owners, commercial and residential property managers and insurance companies.

Mr. Lebow has been an attorney at Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP since 2012, after serving two summers as a law-clerk. He obtained his J.D. from the Pepperdine School of Law. Mr. Lebow participated as trial counsel in obtaining defense verdicts in habitability and homeowners association trials, successfully argued before the Court of Appeal, and obtained positive decisions in arbitrations on an extended neighbor dispute arbitration and in favor of students’ rights in an action against a national testing agency. Mr. Lebow is serving his second term as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the foremost regional association for defense attorneys, and sits on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit SCALE Legal, Inc. which provides pro bono legal services to survivors of human trafficking. Mr. Lebow has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura since 2016, and was named the Board Member of the Year for 2018. Mr. Lebow has been selected to the Super Lawyers Southern California "Rising Star" list by California Super Lawyers magazine and Los Angeles magazine in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Although providing primarily defense services, Mr. Lebow was also named a life member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum for his role in obtaining a successful result in a business litigation dispute.

Mr. Heimberg has been an attorney at Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP since 2017. He joined the firm after several years of working on comprehensive estate planning and probate litigation and quickly impressed our clients with his knowledge and ability. He obtained his J.D. from Whittier Law School, California where he graduated magna cum laude. Mr. Heimberg has participated as trial counsel in obtaining a unanimous defense jury verdict in an alleged construction site accident case and winning an easement dispute. Mr. Heimberg also handles a variety of cases including the firm’s utility and underground services defense practice. Mr. Heimberg remains active in our community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Ventura County Bar Association Barristers organization.

Mr. Partida has been an attorney at Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP since 2017. Previously, Mr. Partida has served as in-house corporate counsel and outside corporate counsel to small and mid-sized companies. He obtained his J.D. from the Ventura College of Law while working full-time and while concurrently obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Mr. Partida participated as trial counsel in obtaining a defense verdict in a commercial landlord/tenant dispute and in a mixed verdict by successfully defending against a public nuisance claim. Mr. Partida has served with the Rotary in Oxnard and is a Paul Harris Fellow and past president. Further, he serves as the Designated Local Authority to the Former Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Paula following an appointment by the Governor. Mr. Partida also serves on the Board of Directors for the California State University, Channel Islands Alumni & Friends Association Board and on the Board of Directors of the Ventura County Bar Association. Mr. Partida is also one of the founding board members of the Ventura and Santa Barbara Colleges of Law Alumni Association. Mr. Partida is married to Bridget Donlon-Partida and together they have two daughters who love to play soccer. Mr. Partida serves on the North Oxnard American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) board of directors.
