Barry Reagan Obtains Defense Verdict in Wrongful Death Case

Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP partner, Barry Reagan, obtained a defense jury verdict in the Orange County Superior Court in connection with a wrongful death case. A toddler sadly drowned in a backyard swimming pool. The toddler’s father sued the owners of the swimming pool and Mr. Reagan’s client - the toddler’s great grandmother - who was at the residence at the time of the drowning. The toddler was brought to the residence by her mother. Unfortunately, the mother fell asleep on the couch. The toddler was able to get into the backyard swimming pool through an open sliding glass door. The firm’s client was working in the kitchen at the time and was aware the mother was asleep and was aware the sliding glass door was open. The jury returned a complete defense verdict for the firm’s client finding that she had no liability for the toddler’s death.
