Barry J. Reagan and Gabriele M. Lashly Successfully Defend Appeal in Defamation Action

Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP represented a non for profit corporation and its president against a defamation action brought by an accountant. After the accountant was unsuccessful to establish its non for profit status, the non for profit filed a complaint and Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP successfully moved for summary judgment. The plaintiff then appealed the summary judgment. Our certified appeal specialist, Gabriele M. Lashly, defended the clients successfully on appeal. The Court of Appeal affirmed the judgment in favor of Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP's clients and also decided that the clients were entitled to costs as the prevailing party.
