Slaughter & Reagan, LLP Successfully Defends Homeowners Association in a Lawsuit to Set Aside Foreclosure
Slaughter & Reagan, LLP obtained an unqualified win for one of its
Homeowners Association clients. Attorneys Barry Reagan, Chandra Beaton
and Gabriele M. Lashly obtained summary judgment against a homeowner who
sued her Homeowners Association to set aside the foreclosure sale of her
condominium. The owner had refused to pay her dues and the Homeowners
Association foreclosed after recording an assessment lien. The Los Angeles
County Superior Court found that the owner could not prove that the foreclosure
had been improper and granted summary judgment in favor of the Association,
thereby completely vindicating the Homeowners Association. The aggressive
use of summary judgment not only avoided a lengthy and costly trial but
also completely disposed of the case in favor of our client.
