Rita Estefan has a Juris Doctor law degree from Gama Filho University in Brazil. She was admitted to the Brazilian Bar in 1993. Her ten year legal career in Brazil started with a Law Clerk position at the firm Tostes Malta and Associates. She joined the law offices of Hudson, Rebello and Associates in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as a Junior Attorney in 1994. After five years Ms. Estefan was promoted to a Senior Partner in 1999, a title she held until 2001.
In October 2001 she left Brazil and moved to California. Rita Estefan began her legal career in the United States by volunteering for the Self-Help Legal Access Center in the Superior Court of California in Ventura, California. She spent a year working as a Paralegal for the Law Offices of Schurmer & Drane in Oxnard, California before joining Procter, Slaughter & Reagan in 2003 as a full time Paralegal.
